On Saturday, a function was held by the government of Nepal at Swayambhunath to observe, review, and celebrate the reconstruction of some of the World Heritage sites in Nepal.
In the presence of the President of Nepal, Bidhya Devi Bhandari, along with several ministers from Karnali, the completion of reconstruction of Swayambhunath and a few other heritage sites was declared.
The 2015 Earthquake had shattered many heritage sites and left in ruins. It was stated during the event that the government is on its way to reconstruct Patan and that it is expecting a complete reconstruction of all the heritage sites in two years.
